Colin Abbott, Jarrahdale, WA: preparing the spot for the fire bunker. It would have been about February or March 2009. I hit a hell of a lot of rock and went through three electic hammers ... and and plenty of Brufen! Jeez! My back was killing me ... but I actually lost quite a bit of weight ... which was nice! The trench idea, basically, is to stop the pipes (culverts) from rolling down the hill.
I call it my Jarrahdale Bushfire Bunker. It can also double as a life saving facility in a cyclone. In a cyclone situation, one would be much safer in the Jarrahdale Fire Bunker than in one's house.
