This simple, do-it-yourself, shelter can also save lives in a cyclone or tornado. It is essential to brick-up or seal one end. You'd also probably be safer in this sort of bunker in an earthquake situation. These steel reinforced culvert/pipes are immensely strong. They weigh nearly two tonnes.
