John Bright Grammar School, Llandudno: classmates circa 1959.

I took this photo of some of my classmates at the JBGS sports day (I think it might have been 1959). I know some of the names of the girls ... but I'm not absolutely certain about it. Perhaps someone can help me out. The exact spelling of the names ... I'm not sure about ... apologies if I've got it wrong.

Top, from left to right: Christine Roberts; Hazel Orland-Jones; Anne ?; unknown.
Bottom, left to right: Catherine Higton; Buddug Hughes; Elsbeth Tyndall.

I did have Elsbeth's email address, but lost it. If any of you chance to see this posting, I'd love to hear from you.

Where do the years go to?

As you can see, I need to lose weight. I'm starting my diet tomorrow!
Honestly! Incidentally ... that's not my bloody handbag!

Colin Hugh Abbott trying to save the trees.

This is Jarrahdale Road, just before you come into the town of Jarrahdale, Western Australia. Main Roads wants to put a controlled-access highway through here (the Tonkin Highway). If they do this, all these beautiful trees would be cut down. This photograph appeared in the West Australian newspaper circa 2000. When the reporter and cameraman (camerawoman actually!) arrived, I was shovelling soil, so I was embarrassed by the state of my clothes (not that I ever had much dress sense). Jarrahdale is in the Darling Range, about 50 kilometres south of Perth. At this point here, we are about 800 feet above sea level. It tends to be a couple of degrees cooler than Perth in winter, and perhaps a couple of degrees warmer in summer. But temperatures will certainly rise if they put a bloody highway through here!

Colin Hugh Abbott going for goal, Glenavon, Northern Ireland, circa 1965

Colin is the only one-legged player ever to have scored a goal at Mournview Park, Lurgan.

Colin is also very useful in one-legged arse-kicking contests - he's won prizes!

Colin Hugh Abbott, Dec 2007, trying to figure out the meaning of life.

We don't have to WIN the human race ... just SAVE it!

...but I'll just have a glass of dry red first ... it's good for you ... you know.

I've just been trying to look up my family tree ... but I never have any luck - it was a bonsai!
